Chambers USA 2011 As one of the firm’s Practice Leaders for the Mayer Brown Litigation Group worldwide, Andy Marovitz is a trial lawyer who concentrates on antitrust litigation and complex commercial litigation. He has represented national and multinational corporations in monopolization, attempted monopolization, price fixing, market allocation and conspiracy cases. He represented BASF Corporation in In re Vitamin Antitrust Litigation, one of the largest price fixing cases ever filed. He also counsels clients on general antitrust issues and represents companies faced with significant litigation. Andy is listed in the Best Lawyers in America and in Who’s Who Legal as an “extremely well known” attorney who devotes substantial time to high-profile cartel litigation. Legal 500 2009 adds that he is "recognized as 'a star of the antitrust bar'" with "a focus on big-ticket litigation." He is a “‘formidable opponent … strong in terms of his substantive knowledge’ with ‘a lot of credibility with judges.’” Chambers USA 2008. In addition to his civil practice, Andy has handled a number of criminal price fixing matters pursued by various DOJ field offices. The February 2004 edition of the UK-based Global Competition Review identified him as a young antitrust lawyer to watch. Prior to joining Mayer Brown, he clerked for the Honorable Richard D. Cudahy of the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Mark Ryan leads Mayer Brown's global antitrust practice. The team was recently bolstered by the promotion to partner of Matthew Provance in Chicago and Stephen Medlock. In the banking sector, HSBC appointed the group to advise on a putative class action alleging a conspiracy among financial institutions to manipulate the market for USD-denominated SSA bonds, as well as a separate class action claiming financial institutions harmed competition in the trading of interest rate swaps. Chicago-based Britt Miller is acting for CDK Global and its partially owned joint venture CVR in multi-district litigation alleging CDK conspired with its primary competitor - the Reynolds and Reynolds group - to exclude third parties from the data integration market and monopolize the after-market for applications. Andrew Marovitz recently provided counsel to clients such as  ArcelorMittal, Lear Corporation and BASF, and is also a name to note in Chicago. Carmine Zarlenga, Adam Hudes and William Stallings are also key names to note. Named attorneys are based in Washington DC unless otherwise stated.
