Mayer Brown International LLP's team attracts high praise for its 'in-depth understanding of structuring private equity deals'. Since his arrival from Reed Smith LLP in 2016,  group head Perry Yam has been instrumental in the growth of the firm's practice, particularly in the midmarket space; the firm has won work from clients such as Bluegem Capital Partners, Strling Square Capital Partners and HIG, among others. In 2017, Yam and James West, who are both 'client-centric and savvy', handled the £200m sale of portfolio company JAC Travel to Australian-listed company Webjet Limited for private equity firm Vitruvian Partners. In addition, the firm has more recently advised Aurelius on the restructuring and merger of two of its portfolio companies. The incredibly engaged and proactive team also includes Tim Nosworthy, and Connor Cahalane, and was also recently strengthened by the arrival of Neil Evans from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.
