Mark Prinsley concentrates on non contentious intellectual property including, in particular, IT project and outsourcing work. Mark is head of the Intellectual Property & IT group in London as well as the outsourcing practice. His practice involves acting for customers at all stages of outsourcing transactions. Recent outsourcing projects have included acting for a commodity exchange in the outsourcing of its IT functions; a telecommunications company in IT outsourcing; a global bank in the outsourcing of its human resources functions; a global chemicals company in outsourcing its Finance and Accounting functions; a global automotive company in the outsourcing of human resources functions; and a consumer goods company in Finance and Accounting outsourcing. Mark also works on the technology aspects of corporate transactions and advises online gambling businesses including, in particular, in relation to international activities of UK operators.

Mayer Brown International LLP has a standout global sourcing practice, and is particularly active in the financial services sector, where it assists customers and suppliers with transactions involving human resources, facilities management, telecoms and back-office functions. Mark Prinsley was the lead adviser to Kraft Heinz on the implementation of a new outsource-based global business services model with Genpact. Prinsley and Andrew Stewart co-lead the team, which also handles global agreements concerning the provision of IT services through public cloud solutions. Prinsley, Oliver Yaros and senior associate Daniel Gallagher are acting for a global financial institution in the acquisition and implementation of cloud-based services provided by Microsoft. Senior associate Dominic Palmer and associate Christian Higham are also recommended.

Headed by IP, IT and outsourcing expert Mark Prinsley, the team at Mayer Brown International LLP handles a range of work that belies its size, from acting for fintech companies on establishing their platforms to assisting a variety of large financial institutions with outsourcing and technological developments. Prinsley acted for South African insurance company AllLife on its collaboration with a UK insurance company to develop and implement a technological insurance product for diabetics; he also assisted a large financial services company on its outsourcing of data centre supply, management and support services. IP and IT expert Oliver Yaros advised one global financial services client on its development of a digital platform for investment banking services. A similar client instructed Yaros on its collaboration with a third party to develop a know-your-client tool for banks and other financial services companies. Both Prinsley and Yaros have been advising a large financial institution on the commercial and regulatory aspects of its potential acquisition of cloud-based services provided by Microsoft. HSBC is a fintech client of the firm.
