Francisco Mendez is the managing partner in Mayer Brown’s Mexico City and he is also a partner in Houston offices. He is a member of the Corporate and Global Oil & Gas group and focuses on advising Latin-American entities in corporate and global oil and gas companies, in connection with project development, merger and acquisition and business transactions in Mexico and Latin America. Francisco has over 30 years’ experience providing in Mexico corporate tax, employment and labor law advice as in house and outside counsel (general counsel of Exon Mobil and Bausch and Lomb in Mexico). Francisco worked closely drafting and negotiating all kind of corporate, commercial and collective bargain agreements and labor contracts in Mexico, coordinating with outside counsels all kind of litigation matters including among others labor and mercantile cases. Currently, Mayer Brown Mexico provides general corporate law advice to companies such as Petronas, Lukoil, Exxon Mobil, Odata, Engineering Ingegneria and Total. Prior to his leadership role in Mexico, Francisco acted as legal counsel on significant upstream, midstream, downstream and corporate divestments and acquisitions projects in Mexico and Latin America, such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, Peru, Venezuela, Central America and the Caribbean.
