Affinitas-member firm Gómez-Pinzón Abogados (GPA) continues to participate in high-stakes arbitration cases representing major companies and State parties in national and international arbitration proceedings. The full-service firm’s sweet spot is investment protection and recent matters have seen the team represent a Spanish construction company in an ICR-governed dispute arising from the performance contract. Off-counsel William Araque, with a career spanning over 25 years, and David Araque, who has an engineering background in addition to his legal training, co-lead the 16-strong practice. The firm has sought to increase its participation in international arbitration through a recent alliance with Clyde & Co LLP to represent clients before international tribunals in relation to investment protection arbitration and in medium-to-large commercial arbitration cases. The group also has investment-treaty arbitration experience.
