The practice acted for a pool of banks on a €4bn financing that was granted to Atlantia to finance the acquisition of Abertis Infraestructuras, one of the largest toll-road operators in the world, by Atlantia, ACS and Hochtief. Marcello Bragliani leads the Italian banking and finance department and Andrea Novarese is well known for leveraged and acquisition finance, restructurings and senior secured lending. Latham & Watkins LLP acts for lenders and borrowers on restructuring mandates, including distressed lending, out-of-court debt restructuring and in-court proceedings. Andrea Novarese and Maria Cristina Storchi advised Sardinia-based Italian airline Alisarda on its debt rescheduling; Novarese also assisted Morfini, an Italian shipping company, with a restructuring agreement with several banks.
