Position

Scott Berger is a partner in the Firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Scott focuses on the private equity aspects of domestic and international real estate and real estate related transactions. He regularly advises sponsors, owners, developers and equity investors on joint ventures, investment funds, club arrangements, M&A and capital markets transactions, dispositions, acquisitions, portfolio and development transactions involving a broad range of asset classes. Scott is regularly involved in matters involving non-US parties.

Scott Berger¬†specializes in the private equity aspects of domestic and international real estate and real estate-related transactions. Another recent highlight included representing Marriott Vacations Worldwide on its $4.6bn acquisition of ILG. Chicago-based Joshua Hanna¬†acted for First State Super on its investment in a $1bn joint venture with Lendlease to develop and operate multifamily residential rental properties in various US cities. Rachel Brown, who is also based in Chicago, advised V√§rde Partners on the $605m sale of its interest in the Utah ski mountains. Chicago-based Andrew Small¬†is also recommended. Justin Elliott¬†joined as partner from¬†Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP¬†and John Goldman¬†joined as partner from Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
