Kelly Malone is a Partner in King & Spalding’s Singapore office and a member of the firm's Energy and Global Transactions Practice Groups. He specializes in cross-border project development/financing and has advised / represented national Governments, State-owned utilities, project sponsors, international consortia, Financial Development Institutions and export credit agencies during the development, privatization, sale, acquisition and/or financing of more than 50 energy (and other) infrastructure projects located in 22 countries.

The wider Singapore team has extensive energy M&A experience; recent highlights include advising AES on the $1.05bn auction sale of its majority holding in its business in the Philippines to SMC Global Power Holdings. Building on its leading presence in oil and gas (including LNG), the practice has elevated its standing in power and renewables over the last few years. It has earned recognition for its work in coal-fired power and LNG-to-power projects, and continues to be at the forefront of hydropower projects thanks to the presence of senior figure Kelly Malone. He and the team advised PNG Power, the state-owned power utility of Papua New Guinea, during the competitive bidding for and award of the right to build, own and operate the Naoro Brown hydropower project. The team also advised Summit Corporation on the procurement of a floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) for its offshore LNG import project in Bangladesh.
