Position
Rahma Karanja is a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial department of the firm. She specializes in Project Finance, Energy, Mergers and Acquisitions and General Banking Law. Rahma widely advises lenders in financing arrangements for renewables projects as well as project developers on regulatory and corporate matters in the energy sector. Her vast experience and first-rate advice has seen her act for a wide range of international and regional financial institutions. Recently, Rahma was part of the team that advised SBM Bank (Kenya) Limited in the acquisition of certain assets and the assumption of certain liabilities from and of Chase Bank (Kenya) Limited (In Receivership).
She is currently acting for clients in connection with the development of a 40MW Solar PV Project in Isiolo and a 50MW Wind Farm Project in Kajiado County.
