Mr Marcello Pedroso
Marcello concentrates his practice in corporate social security and litigation. He has an extensive experience in defences in tax executions brought by the Social Security Department, Federal Revenue Department, other entities and the Unemployment Savings Fund (FGTS), as well as advising global clients on social security inspection proceedings. Focused on issuance of legal opinions and preparation of Due Diligence reports.
Member of the Labor and Social Security Committee of the Centro de Estudos das Sociedades de Advogados – CESA. He is frequently invited to lecture about social security matters.
He earned a MBA in Corporate Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, a specialization degree in Tax Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo and is graduated from Universidade Paulista School of Law in 2001.
The tax team at Demarest Advogados is highlighted for its ‘hands-on‘ approach and ‘diversity‘. The sizeable team includes a number of lawyers who have previously worked at the Big Four accounting firms. Areas of specialism include direct and indirect tax, customs, transfer pricing and social security contributions. In a multi-jurisdictional matter, Carlos Eduardo Orsolon and Douglas Mota advised General Electric on the sale of its water business to SUEZ and Canadian fund CDPQ, the Brazilian tax aspects of which were particularly complex. Elsewhere, Marcello Pedroso and Rodrigo Campos have been advising numerous clients on the payroll tax exemption system. Catarina Rosa Rodrigues is highly recommended. Eloisa de Almeida Rego Barros Curi and Christiano Chagas Monteiro de Melo co-head the corporate and direct tax practice with Rodrigues; Marcelo Salles Annunziata leads the tax litigation department.
