Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP‘s celebrated standing in cross-border M&A, involves a substantial flow of Latin America deals. It represents both multinationals and multilatinas in big-ticket transactions. It advised OLX Brazil in its R$2.9bn acquisition of Grupo ZAP; OLX Brazil is the 50/50 joint venture between Prosus and Adevinta, and is one of the fastest growing tech companies in Brazil. David Mercado has huge experience in Latin America deals, while many of his New York partners also have executed numerous deals in the region.

This has allowed it to develop a fine standing in global offerings, including those originating from Latin America. In 2020, it advised initial purchasers on the $500m senior notes offering by ENGIE Energía Chile, the leading electricity generation company. David Mercado has a longstanding focus on Latin America, covering both M&A and capital markets transactions. Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP has a hugely impressive client base of international issuers, despite it having just two offices, in New York and London; the firm has a large team of US lawyers in the UK capital. Along with an extensive list of corporate issuer clients, it has also landed engagements from a number of sovereign and supranational entities. Amongst a number of headline deals, it advised AerCap Ireland Capital Designated Activity Company and AerCap Global Aviation Trust in their $21bn registered fixed and floating rate senior notes offering and their $1bn registered senior notes offering. Craig Arcella is co-head of the finance practice and has an outstanding record in investment grade, high‑yield and convertible bond offerings, along with IPOs for international issuers.
