Covering corporate, administrative, civil and regulatory litigation, the practice is well positioned to undertake contentious work involving public law and governmental issues, and has experienced an increase in instructions concerning insurance, environmental, construction, product liability and financial disputes. Cases resulting from M&A and general commercial conflicts, including cross-border matters, have also recently seen a substantial uptick. The department is one of the main drivers of the firm’s pro bono efforts, a pioneer initiative in the market. In this context, practitioners have offered representation to clients on a pro bono basis in litigation issues involving immigration, LGBTQ and minorities, among others. Eduardo Damião Gonçalves has a strong track record in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings.
