For example, it was instructed on a number of the highest profile banking litigation cases arising out of LIBOR manipulation and interest rate swap mis-selling. In more recent years, the practice has grown and evolved and is now a go to firm for large corporate v corporate disputes. Lianne Craig, now London Managing Partner, was nominated as one of the Hot100 by The Lawyer in 2021 and was recognised as ‘Individual of the Year for Dispute Resolution London’ by The Legal 500 in their UK awards 2020.

Hausfeld is proud of its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the firm. Our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committees continually monitor and improve all aspects of our recruiting, hiring, training, career progression, leader development, policies and practices to ensure a diverse and dynamic work environment. As an Equal Opportunities Employer, we ensure equality for all, from the candidate selection process to appointment, regardless of factors including age, gender, race, religion, beliefs, sexuality and seniority.

We are a gender diverse firm: 42% of our lawyers worldwide are female while 40% of our partnership is made up of women. Our people state that the firm ‘is beyond inclusive’ with ‘every voice heard’ and feel that they have ‘found a home’ in the firm. One partner highlights that ‘the firm has ‘allowed me the flexibility to flourish at home as well as at work’, with junior lawyers highlighting that ‘trainees are treated as core and valued members of case teams’, and others say that they are ‘inspired by the abundance of positive partner and non-partner female role models’.

We implement several initiatives with external stakeholders ranging from financially supporting the ‘Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project’ in the US, which fights to free those who have been sent to prison while innocent, to collaborating with the Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership in London. We organise local and global events for our staff where leading guest speakers aim to educate for example around black history, as well as start important conversations around DE&I topics such as the importance of using pronouns in support of the LGBTQ+ community and equal rights for their community.

Improving access to justice for individuals and businesses lies at the foundation of what we do. As part of our substantive pro bono practice we use our knowledge and skill to cooperate closely with charities and NGOs, which in many cases offers a voice to those without deep pockets and who need it most.
