Within: Commercial contracts

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP resulted from a merger between Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP and US firm Bryan Cave in April 2018, with its UK-based commercial group forming a key part of a larger international practice. Richard Shaw leads the team, which includes Marcus Pearl ('quick to identify key issues') and 'technically brilliant' Usman Wahid. The group's first-rate reputation in commercial contracts garners complex, business-critical work from clients in sectors such as financial services, real estate and media, among others. Carol Osborne spends the majority of her time undertaking matters in the retail and luxury brands sector. In 2017, Pearl and senior associate Louis Wihl acted for Bay State Milling Company in its groundbreaking licensing arrangement with Arista Cereals Technologies to commercialise the first high-amylose crop in the United States. Elsewhere, the team is increasingly active in strategic data monetisation and ad tech projects. In addition, the firm has a first-rate global outsourcing practice, which spans areas such as IT infrastructure, facilities management, healthcare, and general and life insurance, among others. Melissa Manski, Mark Lewis, Mimi Curran and Charlotte Pham are recommended.
