Career

Camila Ohno has a track record in capital markets transactions that very few lawyers at such a young age were able to achieve. With almost 10 years of experience in the capital markets practice, Camila combines a deep knowledge of capital markets regulations with a practical and deal-oriented approach which made her one of the rising stars in Pinheiro Guimarães’ traditional and awarded capital markets practice. She is able to easily navigate between equity and debt offerings, both in the domestic and international markets, and worked in deals amounting to more than BRL10 billion in 2018 alone. Camila was one of the lawyers in charge of the BRL5billion IPO of Petrobras Distribuidora S.A., one of the most important equity deals in Brazil in the last few years, taking the lead and impressing clients with her hands-on approach and a critical sense whenever any issues would come up during the preparation and execution of the transaction. Camila also often works along with the members of the restructuring practice in strategic and major debt restructurings with a capital markets component and was involved in several of the most complex, time-sensitive and ground-breaking debt restructurings in the Brazilian market, such as Odebrecht Ambiental, OGX Group and A! Bodytech deals. She also has a unique experience in structured financing transactions and sophisticated and complex security packages with complex, often shared among creditors and really one-of-a-kind collateral arrangements. Camila’s involvement in a long-list of cross border transactions also ensured that she would build an ability to handle international clients which, combined with her impressive communication skills, makes a difference when intricated Brazilian legal issues require risk assessments and detailed explanation education to international players involved in transactions in Brazil. Camila has an LLM from Sorbonne Assas International Law School.
