Mr. Vianna has more than 25 years of experience and practice in commercial law, with emphasis in shipping, international trade, insurance and energy matters, assisting clientes in cross – border litigation, ADR and also advises in non – contencious work. He also seats as an arbitrator and mediator in a vast range of international disputes. He has received for the past years recognition by the most accredited international publications such as Chambers and Partners, Legal500 and Who’s Who as Leading Lawyer in his field.

Career

Mr. Godofredo Mendes Vianna is the Managing Partner of Kincaid | Mendes Vianna Advogados, a traditional Brazilian law firm established in Rio de Janeiro in 1932.

Mr. Vianna is the Chair of the Maritime and Port Law Committee of the Rio de Janeiro´s Bar Association (since 2013); current Co-Chair of Transport and Maritime Law Committee of the International Bar Association – IBA; Permanent Arbitrator at FGV Chamber of Mediation and Arbitration and Professor and Coordinator of Maritime and Port Law Post-Graduation course at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV/RJ). Godofredo is member of Brazilian Bar Association – States of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, of Brazilian Association of Maritime Law (ABDM), of the International Chambers of Commerce Brazil (ICC Brazil), of Ibero – American Maritime Law Institute (IIDM/BR) and Association of São Paulo’s Lawyers (AASP).
