Renata Campetti Amaral has been chosen by the Award Law Review (Prêmio Análise Advocacia) as one of the most respected lawyers in the area of Environmental Law in Brazil. She is partner of the Environmental and Consumer Law Group and member of the Global Climate Change Group, at Baker McKenzie. She is a professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul - UFRGS and UNISINOS. She is also a Counselor of Environmental Matters at FIERGS - Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul and lecturer in several Environmental Law Seminars.

Ms. Renata Campetti Amaral was born in Porto Alegre (RS) on June 30, 1977. She graduated in 2000 from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica Law School and joined the firm in 2002. She is specialist in International Law from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and obtained a Master degree in 2001 from the University of Texas School of Law. She was a professor of International Private Law at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica. Currently, she is a professor of Environmental Law at the Federal University of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Verbo Jurídico and UNISINOS - RS.

  • The New Turkish Code of Obligations: Important Changes for Leases of Residential & Business Premises

    For decades, the primary Turkish laws governing leases of residential and business premises have been the Law on Leasing Real Property dated May 27, 1955 (the “Lease Law”) and the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 818 dated April 22, 1926 (the “Obligations Code”). Both of these laws, however, will be repealed and replaced with the new Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 dated January 11, 2011 (the “New Obligations Code”), which will enter into force on July 7, 2012.
