It successfully acted for L'Oréal in several disputes, including a patent and registered community designs right infringement claim against RN Ventures. It also defended the client in a multi-jurisdictional patent dispute brought by Liqwd (Olaplex), relating to a hair treatment. In another work highlight, Michael Hart acted for a fashion retailer in an action relating to the use of confidential information (of an upcoming product launch) to obtain high proportions of new products using automated bot technology. Practice head Michelle Blunt led a team, alongside Hiroshi Sheraton, which is advising a blockchain and bitcoin innovator on protection of IP assets. The group is also instructed by new clients Swarovski, Liberty Mutual, Dropbox and Sanofi-Aventis.   • The New Turkish Code of Obligations: Important Changes for Leases of Residential & Business Premises

    For decades, the primary Turkish laws governing leases of residential and business premises have been the Law on Leasing Real Property dated May 27, 1955 (the ‚ÄúLease Law‚ÄĚ) and the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 818 dated April 22, 1926 (the ‚ÄúObligations Code‚ÄĚ). Both of these laws, however, will be repealed and replaced with the new Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 dated January 11, 2011 (the ‚ÄúNew Obligations Code‚ÄĚ), which will enter into force on July 7, 2012.
