The practice at Baker McKenzie specialises in litigation, M&A and regulatory work across the energy sector, with a particular expertise in renewables. Leading the team is Xavier Junquera, who focuses on public, regulatory and environmental law, and Luis Casals, who is experienced in corporate and M&A. The department advised Ellomay Capital on public law matters related to the development of a photovoltaic power plant in Cáceres. In another highlight, the firm represented Grupo Cobra in the appeal of a decision by Aragón Water Authority relating to the concession contract pricing criteria for the construction and operation of several wastewater treatment plants. Pablo Dorronsoro Martín joind Pinsent Masons LLP in 2018.

Guillermo Rodrigo is assisting three of Spain‚Äôs largest banks, Banco Santander, BBVA and Banco Popular, with their sale of a portfolio of land to Metrovacesa for ‚ā¨1.3bn. Adell and Rodrigo lead the team. Xavier Junquera is also recommended.

  • The New Turkish Code of Obligations: Important Changes for Leases of Residential & Business Premises

    For decades, the primary Turkish laws governing leases of residential and business premises have been the Law on Leasing Real Property dated May 27, 1955 (the ‚ÄúLease Law‚ÄĚ) and the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 818 dated April 22, 1926 (the ‚ÄúObligations Code‚ÄĚ). Both of these laws, however, will be repealed and replaced with the new Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 dated January 11, 2011 (the ‚ÄúNew Obligations Code‚ÄĚ), which will enter into force on July 7, 2012.
