Jorge Adell heads Firm’s Corporate/M&A Practice Group in Barcelona. He focuses his practice on advising international and domestic clients on M&A, private equity, including real estate transactional work, business start-ups, assets and share acquisitions, joint ventures and alliances and corporate restructurings. He has worked in different industries, including IT, energy, food, textile, pharmaceutical, car manufacturing, hotel and tourism and healthcare.


Mr. Adell joined Baker McKenzie in 2006. Partner of the law firm Mullerat from 1994 to May 2006. Foreign Associate of the firm Mayer, Brown Rowe & Maw, Chicago, USA, from 1993 to 1994. Jorge Adell is advising TA Associates on its €16m acquisition of property owned by The English School of Asturias. Guillermo Rodrigo is assisting three of Spain’s largest banks, Banco Santander, BBVA and Banco Popular, with their sale of a portfolio of land to Metrovacesa for €1.3bn. Adell and Rodrigo lead the team. Xavier Junquera is also recommended.

  • The New Turkish Code of Obligations: Important Changes for Leases of Residential & Business Premises

    For decades, the primary Turkish laws governing leases of residential and business premises have been the Law on Leasing Real Property dated May 27, 1955 (the “Lease Law”) and the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 818 dated April 22, 1926 (the “Obligations Code”). Both of these laws, however, will be repealed and replaced with the new Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 dated January 11, 2011 (the “New Obligations Code”), which will enter into force on July 7, 2012.
