Career

Mohamed Barakat works as a partner in the Firm’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group and Global Major Projects Practice Group. Mohamed spends a considerable part of the year working with the Firm’s Middle East offices, in particular the Firm’s Cairo office where Mr. Barakat is currently based. Mohamed is a member of the American Bar Association, the D.C. Bar Association, as well as the Illinois State Bar Association. He received his B.A.in 1999 from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In addition to his Master of Science, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2001 and his Juris Doctor Degree, University of Illinois College of Law in 2004.

Mohamed advises multinational companies on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures, with emphasis on the Egyptian, Kuwaiti and Saudi Arabian markets. He also advises global investment banks on the rules and regulations governing several capital markets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other jurisdictions in the Middle East.
