The seven-strong team is also increasingly assisting with compliance issues and has particular sector-experience in areas including banking, healthcare, insurance, construction, retail and infrastructure, along with mobile telecoms, mining and ports. Rio Tinto, Fedex, PayPal and Atlantia are all clients; the team assisted the latter obtain clearance for its public takeover of Spain's Abertis, one of the first merger-control procedures approved in Chile under the country's updated 2017 legislation. Other matters include advising Essity/SCA on an approximately $500m class action damages claim derived from the tissue-paper cartel case. Rodrigo Diaz de Valdes heads the practice and Diego Ferrada is noted for high-profile merger-control proceedings.   • The New Turkish Code of Obligations: Important Changes for Leases of Residential & Business Premises

    For decades, the primary Turkish laws governing leases of residential and business premises have been the Law on Leasing Real Property dated May 27, 1955 (the ‚ÄúLease Law‚ÄĚ) and the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 818 dated April 22, 1926 (the ‚ÄúObligations Code‚ÄĚ). Both of these laws, however, will be repealed and replaced with the new Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 dated January 11, 2011 (the ‚ÄúNew Obligations Code‚ÄĚ), which will enter into force on July 7, 2012.
