Position

Arron Slocombe is a partner in the Firm's Pensions Practice in London and has been advising clients on UK pensions law and related areas for 15 years. He is Chair of the Legislation Committee of the Society of Pension Professionals and is a full member of the Association of Pension Lawyers. He is partner and sponsor of our "Baker Opportunity" social mobility focus group. Arron speaks regularly at seminars on various pensions issues and is a regular contributor to a wide range of legal publications related to pensions law. Arron advises trustees and companies on a broad range of pensions work including pension buyouts and liability management, scheme mergers, benefit and corporate restructurings with particular focus on managing statutory debts, investment issues and pensions litigation.

Career

Trained Baker McKenzie; qualified 2003; partner 2010. Deputy Chair of the Society of Pensions Professionals' Legislation Committee and member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and the NAPF City and Eastern Group. Frequent contributor to the UK's leading pensions journals. Most recently co-authored a feature article in PLC Magazine on the new pension flexibilities.

  • The New Turkish Code of Obligations: Important Changes for Leases of Residential & Business Premises

    For decades, the primary Turkish laws governing leases of residential and business premises have been the Law on Leasing Real Property dated May 27, 1955 (the ‚ÄúLease Law‚ÄĚ) and the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 818 dated April 22, 1926 (the ‚ÄúObligations Code‚ÄĚ). Both of these laws, however, will be repealed and replaced with the new Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 dated January 11, 2011 (the ‚ÄúNew Obligations Code‚ÄĚ), which will enter into force on July 7, 2012.
