Position

Gordon Low is a partner in the Corporate group in the London office of Baker McKenzie. Gordon's practice spans domestic corporate finance, domestic and international M&A, venture capital and international securities transactions, and he has extensive experience of managing multijurisdictional deals. Gordon has advised a broad range of clients on the acquisition and disposal of companies and businesses both within and outside the United Kingdom. He has advised companies seeking to raise capital on the London Stock Exchange and also companies seeking to access the institutional markets by way of private placements. He has advised investee companies seeking to raise private equity finance and industrial companies on joint venture agreements and related arrangements.

  • The New Turkish Code of Obligations: Important Changes for Leases of Residential & Business Premises

    For decades, the primary Turkish laws governing leases of residential and business premises have been the Law on Leasing Real Property dated May 27, 1955 (the “Lease Law”) and the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 818 dated April 22, 1926 (the “Obligations Code”). Both of these laws, however, will be repealed and replaced with the new Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 dated January 11, 2011 (the “New Obligations Code”), which will enter into force on July 7, 2012.
