Stuart Solsky concentrates on project development and finance, particularly in the energy industry. He has practiced for over 30 years, representing developers, lenders, rating agencies, equity investors, and contractors in electric power, LNG, energy (midstream and downstream), petrochemical, telecommunications, water, and other projects. Mr. Solsky has worked on all aspects of the development, acquisition, divestiture, and financing of projects, and as a result has developed a broad-based corporate, commercial and financial practice. Mr. Solsky has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of project agreements and financing documents, including EPC contracts, power purchase agreements, O&M agreements, loan agreements, letters of credit, cash collateral agreements, other security agreements, partnership agreements, and limited liability operating agreements. He has developed a particular expertise in EPC contracts, having drafted, negotiated and/or reviewed over 180 EPC contracts on a variety of projects. His projects are located all over the globe, with a strong emphasis on the U.S., Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Baker Botts L.L.P.'s construction practice is largely based in New York where Stuart Solsky heads the team, although a significant portion of the work is centered in Texas. In recent work, Solsky advised Alaska Gasline Development Corporation on contracts relating to the development and financing of a gas treatment plant, pipeline and a liquefaction plant, totaling $43bn. Houston-based partner Joseph Colagiovanni advised Hines on the construction and design agreements for a $1bn commercial office tower development in Boston. Senior associate Daniel Kruger, who is also based in Houston, is experienced in EPC contracts and regularly advises developers and owners of power generating facilities across the US. AES Corporation is also a client.
