Intellectual Property

Head of BMA’s IP litigation team, partner Pedro Barroso has extensive experience in complex litigation involving patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyright and unfair competition.

Pedro Barroso represents clients in all areas of intellectual property, from patents and trademarks to industrial designs and copyright. He also acts in unfair competition cases, especially in matters related to trade dress and trade secrets.

From 2003 to 2006, Pedro worked on the software antipiracy campaign sponsored by BSA – The Software Alliance, gaining expertise and insight into software litigation.

Although his practice focuses on litigation in the courts, Pedro also assists clients in trademark prosecution before Brazil’s WPO, the INPI, and advises on contracts related to transfer of technology, assignment and licensing of intellectual property rights, and other matters involving protection of intangible assets.
