Robert is regularly instructed to assist civil and commercial law firms and corporate counsel with the ‘criminal dimension’ to primarily civil and commercial disputes. He has acted in FCA regulatory investigations and criminal prosecutions for insider dealing; including the first in which the FCA exercised its powers to grant immunity under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act (SOCPA).
Recent case highlights include currently defending in a major SFO prosecution for overseas bribery and corruption; defending a high profile dissident and vocal Putin critic on trial for possession of indecent images of children; and advising a high profile celebrity in relation to allegations of historic sex abuse.
