Position

Jamie is an associate who specialises in corporate and governance matters and is based in the Manchester education team. He has extensive experience of advising schools and academies on governance issues, collaborations, establishing companies and trading companies.

 

As the political, financial and commercial pressure builds for schools to consider forming or joining multi-academy trust, Jamie’s expertise has been highly sought after by groups of schools looking to select the right level of governance to suit their growth plans.

Jamie has also advised on over 250 academy projects nationally with a specific focus on North West schools, ranging from traditional academy sponsor projects, establishment of new sponsors and groups, academy conversion and Trust to Trust transfers

Dai Durbridge, who leads the wider education team on safeguarding issues and heads the Manchester team, is a ‘consummate professional who goes to the upmost lengths to provide professional support, sometimes in the most difficult of circumstances’. Durbridge advises schools, academies, FE and sixth form colleges. Kerren Daly  who works in the employment and education teams has a ‘fantastic knack of getting to the nub of an issue and then follows it up with clear advice’.
