Position

Nichola Evans is a well-respected practitioner in Commercial Litigation. She is a board member on the Civil Mediation Council, sits on the Law Society Council and on the FOIL National Executive Committee. Nichola specialises in high value contract disputes, some of which have been very high profile. Over the past five years Nichola has dealt with a number of Commercial Court trials together with three Court of Appeal matters and one case in the Supreme Court. In addition Nichola has experience of international Arbitration work and is a part qualified Arbitrator. A number of her recent cases have been reported in the Law Reports. 

In addition Nichola is a columnist in the New Law Journal commenting on new developments in the law. She also provides training to the Manchester Insurance Institute recently delivering their flagship seminar. She is also a regular contributor to Browne Jacobson publications including Public Matters.

The ‘impressive’ team at Browne Jacobson LLP is noted for its public and healthcare sector expertise, acting for clients such as NHS Commissioning Board and The Welsh Government. The team continued to represent Ted Baker and No Ordinary Designer Label in its claim against AXA Insurance UK and represented DPD in a dispute regarding the provision of handheld scanners at its warehouse hub. Elmdene Group, Walgreens Boots Alliance and Celthheath are also clients. Department head Nichola Evans leads on healthcare and public sector commercial litigation; she ‘approaches cases with considerable commercial pragmatism’. Associate Katie Scott is also a key member of the team.
