Position

Partner, Rob, qualified as a commercial property solicitor with Browne Jacobson at the firm's Nottingham office and has over 16 years’ experience working in the Agricultural and Rural sector.

Rob has particular experience and expertise in strategic rural property development and agricultural acquisitions. He attends management meetings with a number of landed, rural and charitable estates and he regularly chairs trustee and governor meetings. 

Rob’s experience also includes advising on:

  • agricultural matters, including farm business tenancies, grazing licences, subsidy schemes and other related matters; and
  • strategic agreements relating to rural and agricultural land for development and diversification of Estates, advising on conditional commercial agreements, leases, option and land promotion agreements, licences and transfers; and
  • general estate management, including fisheries leases, shooting agreements, first registrations of Land and Minerals/Chancel, Oil/minerals options/lease agreements, a power station option agreements, remediation agreements relating to land (mine collapse/environmental contamination)

Rob acts for a wide range of clients including wealthy private clients, investors, developers, charities and owners of large landed and commercial estates.

Rob is a committee member of the Country Landowners Association “Nottingham Branch” and has been on the branch committee for over four years. Rob is also a member of the Agricultural Law Association & British Association for Shooting & Conservation.

He is currently advising on the acquisition of a 2,000 acre rural estate and is also just advised on the acquisition of two former colliery sites which are to be remediated back to agricultural land.
