Work Department

Neil is a Legal Director in the firm's Development and Housing Team with over 20 years’ experience in advising clients on property acquisition, disposal and development work. Formerly a partner in another national law firm, specialising in development work for private and public sector clients, his expertise and experience are now primarily deployed in delivering property advice to our local authority and other public sector clients.

Neil’s experience in property development matters includes site acquisition and assembly, development and joint venture agreements and related funding, letting arrangements and other disposals.

He has acted for a wide variety of clients including national (and local) housebuilders, property developers and investors, other property companies, banks, retailers and other occupiers, registered providers of affordable housing but over the last few years he’s been particularly active in representing a significant number of local authorities and other public bodies on complex and often high value projects, particularly those involving regeneration and development.

Neil is experienced in leading projects and coordinating his work with other lawyers in the project team, whether colleagues within the property department, specialists in other departments, members of the client project team or other consultants advising the client, and will take a “hands on” and proactive approach in terms of delivery of the project services.
