Position

Mark is an Associate and works within our property department. Mark has specialised in retail property and has extensive experience in landlord and tenant matters having acted for several high street retailers. He has dealt with a wide range of acquisitions for retail clients ranging from units in shopping centres and retail parks to units on the high street.

Mark has experience acting for a packaging manufacturer who has granted a lease of factory roof space for the installation of solar panels.  The model documents were agreed on one site with the intention that this is rolled out to other factories owned by the packaging manufacturer in the UK.

Previously Mark was at Cobbetts in Leeds and gained wide experience in all aspects of commercial property.  This experience included investment, development, property finance and insolvency/business restructuring in addition to landlord and tenant.

Mark trained at a high street practice in Leicester qualifying in 2007. On qualification Mark moved to Cobbetts in Leeds, spending nearly four years there before returning to Leicester at Shakespeares (then Harvey Ingram). In January 2014, Mark joined Browne Jacobson.

Paul Ray advised Santander on a £5.4m financing of a management buyout of Clamason Industries sponsored by Connection Capital, and on the borrower side advised Local Space Housing Association on a £75m private placement. Emma Hinton has expertise in social care deals, acting for borrowers in this space. Other clients include RBS. Mark Lewis is an associate of note.
