Position
Leah is a Partner in the Complex Claims and Social Care Team and, in addition to her full case load, she is also part of the leadership team, managing a team of lawyers.
Leah has a broad client base of both public body and insurer clients. She regularly delivers bespoke training and workshops to clients and internally.
Leah is technically excellent and has a busy case load of complex, high value and sensitive claims with a focus on claims in the health and social care and higher education sectors, both public and private. Her experience encompasses:
- actions relating to historical sexual abuse and neglect;
- claims for breach of HRA including Art 2 (Right to Life), Art 3 (inhumane treatment) Art 5 (Deprivation of Liberty), Art 6 (right to a fair trial) and Art 8 (Right to Private and Family Life);
- representation of intervener in public care proceedings;
- discrimination claims (primarily in higher education settings);
- actions for defamation and misuse of private information;
- stress, bullying and harassment at work claims; and
- catastrophic injury/disease claims for both public and employers’ liability e.g. mesothelioma; double amputation workplace injury.
