Position

Paula specialises in intellectual property and technology law. Paula has a wide range of experience in non-contentious work in this area, including, in particular, advising technology companies on IP protection and exploitation strategies and clients in the retail and manufacturing sectors on brand protection.

Paula has advised on research and development arrangements between innovative private sector companies and academia and also on sponsorship and joint venture arrangements entered into by a well-known figure in the rural estates sector. Paula has also continued to advise one of our longstanding clients in the outdoor clothing sector on the strategic direction of its IP portfolio, and also a world leader in explosives and blasting with a reputation for technological innovation, on the exploitation of third party generated IP, including licensing arrangements and IP protection strategies.

Paula continues to advise brand-rich manufacturers in the sectors of sports and leisure, food, retail, distribution and luxury clothing on the strategic management of their trade mark portfolios. Paula is a key member of the firm’s IT and outsourcing business development team and she also has a particular interest in the development of the firm’s HealthTech work.

Career

Trained at Browne Jacobson. Admitted as a solicitor in 2001; partner in 2010.
