Partner, Mark, specialises in contentious IP, leading the Browne Jacobson’s high tech patent litigation practice.
He is ranked as a leading trademark professional in World Trademark Review 1000, as a leading patent professional (IAM Patent 1000), an IP Star (patents and trademarks – Managing Intellectual Property), and is a ranked lawyer in Chambers 2017 (Midlands, Intellectual Property) and Legal 500 (Brand management, TMT). He has recently been shortlisted for TMT lawyer of the year (outside London) in the upcoming Legal 500 awards.
Mark has represented OSI Systems Inc and its UK subsidiary (Rapiscan Systems Limited), Vision Critical Limited and Musion Events Limited on patent infringement litigation in the IPO, IPEC and High Court. He is also lead Partner for The London Taxi Corporation on trademark and design matters, including leading the high profile 3-D shape trade mark and passing off litigation, the Court of Appeal judgment for which was handed down in November 2017. Earlier in his career, he represented InterDigital in the high profile Nokia v InterDigital litigation running from 2005 to 2008.

Mark has a diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from Bristol University and is a member of Society for Computers and Law and an associate member of INTA, IET and CIPA. He acts as a panel expert for LexisNexis PSL, regularly writes for IP journals including IP Magazine, ITMA Review, Computers and Law, EIPR, JIPLP and World Intellectual Property Review.
