Position
Sam is a Group Partner in the Jersey Corporate, Finance and Funds.
Sam is an experienced funds, corporate and regulatory lawyer who heads the Collas Crill Jersey funds team.
His practice has a particular focus on advising high net worth private clients, family offices and those managing and advising private wealth. Sam also specialises on assisting early stage fund and wealth managers seeking to establish new fund or holding structures.
Sam’s experience includes the establishment and whole life cycle of funds and other holding structures (including on a deal by deal basis) for a variety of asset classes including:
- Sustainable finance/ESG assets
- Private equity/venture capital
- Property/Real estate (including REITs and JPUTs)
- Equities/Bonds
- Debt
- Infrastructure
Sam also advises on Jersey debt issuance vehicles (such as structured products) as well as regulatory issues such as financial services business licensing.
Career
Sam joined the firm in 2020 following over 10 years in top tier Jersey law firms, 2 years as a director at a multinational administration business and a year assisting Jersey Finance on legal and technical matters.
Having qualified as a Scottish solicitor (currently non-practising), Sam went on to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales (currently non-practising) and as a Jersey advocate in 2010.
