Carey Olsen Bermuda was opened in late 2017 by Michael Hanson, who is known for his expertise in multi-jurisdictional crisis management, corporate, employment and regulatory investigations, and complex executive disputes; he was soon followed by 'very able lawyer and litigator' Keith Robinson, who specialises in ultra-high-value trust disputes; counsel Henry Tucker; and senior associates Cheri Minors, Jennifer Woods and Kyle Masters. Hanson, Robinson and Woods joined from Appleby, while Tucker, Minors and Masters were hired from H J Tucker & Co, Colonial Group International and Digicel Group, respectively. The team acted for Hiscox in proceedings before the Supreme Court of Bermuda against its former chief financial officer, which involved a Mareva freezing injunction, with complementary orders in London and South Africa and discovery proceedings in New York.
