Carey Olsen Singapore LLP has grown considerably in the last two years; it now has the largest litigation team amongst the offshore firms in Singapore, landing a high proportion of shareholder disputes that fall under Cayman and BVI law. Restructurings and insolvencies are also a major forte for the group, which has a strong focus on the China market. On the transactional side, the Singapore team is active in corporate and M&A deals, capital markets offerings, financings and investment fund formations. The group is also active in capital markets including those by SPACs and Southeast Asia-based unicorns looking to fundraise on US exchanges. In the funds segment, it advises a range of private equity, hedge, venture capital and special situations funds. Bilateral secured financings for Chinese and Southeast Asia banks are also a feature of the Singapore practice. Anthony McKenzie heads the Singapore office and the Asia corporate practice. James Noble leads the litigation, insolvency and restructuring team in Asia.
