Carey Olsen Singapore LLP has undergone further growth, particularly in the dispute resolution field with James Noble having joined from Harney Westwood & Riegels Singapore LLP in November 2019, followed by a series of lateral hires at the associate level. This has led to a rise in commercial disputes engagements, along with insolvency and restructuring matters. On the transactions side, Singapore managing partner and Asia head of corporate Anthony McKenzie and his team are active in downstream funds work, along with M&A transactions involving Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian clients; McKenzie and his department are particularly focused on the China market with a number of the group being Mandarin speakers and PRC qualified. Equity capital markets deals, including the listing of special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), is another area of recent focus. McKenzie and Noble are also unique in the market, being dual-qualified in the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands.
