Lawyer Rankings(Leading individuals)
Ogier’s team recently acted for clients on launches of listed funds, debt securities offerings on TISE (of which the firm maintains a sizeable foothold across the Channel Islands) and several REIT listings. The bench includes noted funds expert Craig Cordle, senior associate Charlotte Brown and Bryon Rees, who collectively advised on a complex dual AIM and NYSE listing for a company in the legal finance sector. Other work included high-value share placements for music royalties and renewable energy clients, on which managing associate Michelle Watson Bunn assisted.
Alongside established clients in the infrastructure and real estate fund sectors, Ogier’s ‘deep, dedicated and very knowledgeable‘ investment funds and regulatory team’s client roster includes fund managers in the growing renewables and green finance fields. Co-head Tim Clipstone‘s regulatory background is appropriately leveraged, while fellow co-heads Craig Cordle and Bryon Rees excel at listed and private funds respectively. Venture capital is a growth asset class for the team, with new fund managers being added to the portfolio. The team also advises on a large number of fund restructuring mandates.
Ogier fields an extensive bench of corporate M&A lawyers led by the ‘excellent‘ Bryon Rees. The strong standalone team takes charge on Guernsey-based and global deals, including in the regulated telecoms space and the UK real estate sector. Leading downstream private equity experts include Craig Cordle and Tim Clipstone (who also advises on regulatory matters including AML and corporate responsibility), while managing associate Richard Doyle lends his hand to joint ventures, shareholder agreements and corporate reorganisations. Charlotte Brown is another key team member at the senior associate level.
