Career

Marcus Leese is a partner of Ogier. He specialises in investment funds, banking and finance, corporate, private wealth. Marcus joined the Guernsey office of Ogier in 1999 and became a partner in 2005. He re-located to the Hong Kong office in 2010 to establish the Channel Islands’ in Asia practice and returned to Guernsey in 2014.

Prior to joining Ogier, Marcus worked for Arthur Andersen for two years and then Russell McVeagh for seven years in Auckland, New Zealand.

 

Barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand (1993); (non-practising) solicitor, England and Wales (2004); (non-practising) solicitor British Virgin Islands (2010).

Memberships

Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Member of The Joint Committee on Trust Law Reform, a body representing STEP and the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association, advising the Hong Kong government on the reform of Hong Kong trust law.

Bachelor of Laws (1992) and Bachelor of Commerce (1992) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand Certificat d’Etudes Juridiques Francaises et Normandes (2002) from the Universite de Caen, France.
