Rebecca’s practice covers all aspects of dispute resolution, in particular contentious trusts, cross border insolvency and restructuring and property disputes.

Rebecca is Partner in Ogier’s Jersey Dispute Resolution team. Rebecca has significant experience across a broad range of commercial litigation matters, trust disputes, cross border insolvency and restructuring and property disputes.  She regularly advises local and international clients in actions often involving multiple parties in multiple jurisdictions from pre-litigation through to trial and often works closely with Ogier’s Local Legal Services team advising HNW clients on contentious property related matters.

Work highlights include:

  • Advising the Viscount of the Royal Court of Jersey on all matters relating to the desastres (bankruptcy) of a local GP and Jersey incorporated company, related proceedings before the English High Court, described by the Court as being of “labyrinthine complexity”, and the realisation of assets following trial in the English proceedings in 2021 – The Serious Fraud Office & Anor v Litigation Capital Limited & ors [2021] EWHC 1272 (Comm).
  • In collaboration with Corporate and Banking, advising a leading real estate provider in respect of its administration and related cross border issues.
  • Advising a high profile UHNW client in respect of freezing and other interim orders obtained against him in aid of enforcement of a foreign judgment.
  • In collaboration with Private Wealth, advising the trustees of a Jersey law trust in relation to the complex restructuring of substantial trust assets.
  • In collaboration with Local Legal Services, acting on behalf of a UHNW client in respect of judicial review proceedings brought against the Minister for the Environment – WE (Jersey) Limited v Minister for the Environment [2022] JRC044
  • Advising a HNW client in respect a construction dispute concerning a substantial residential development and multiple related professional negligence claims.

Recognised in The Legal 500 as a Rising Star and noted for having “built a strong cross border contentious insolvency practice”, Rebecca has also been named in Citywealth’s Top 200 IFC Powerwomen and recognised in Chambers & Partners and in the Citywealth Leaders’ List.  She has been described by clients as “an impressive client-focussed, pragmatic and commercial lawyer with an excellent client manner”, and praised for her “competent, commercial, pragmatic, thorough and efficient approach”.

Rebecca qualified as an English Solicitor in 2005 and was called to the Jersey Bar as an Advocate in January 2017. She studied at the Instiut d’Etudes Politiques in Aix-en-Provence and Law with French in Manchester where she trained and worked with a large UK firm before moving to Jersey in 2008.
