Career

Tim provides advice on the full life-cycle of open-ended and closed-ended investment funds and venture capital and corporate structures.  He is a member of Ogier’s Latin American practice team with a particular focus on the Brazilian market, advising a broad range of clients in relation to both inward and outward investments.

Tim has extensive experience working with sponsors, asset managers, family offices and their onshore counsel advising on the establishment, regulation, corporate governance and ongoing operation of investment funds.  He also regularly advises clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters and is member of Ogier’s multi-disciplinary Private Equity team.

He is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association and the New Zealand Law Society.

Education

Tim began his career as a corporate and finance solicitor at Mayne Wetherell in Auckland, New Zealand in 2010.  He joined Ogier’s Investment Fund’s team in the Cayman Islands in 2014 and spent 6 months on secondment at Brazilian law firm Pinheiro Neto Advogados in 2018.

Tim received his Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance and his Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand in 2009.
