Considerable onshore and offshore corporate, commercial and private client experience and has continued to extend his expertise across all areas of corporate and finance law – particularly banking, real estate finance, asset finance, real estate funds, corporate and commercial, corporate finance and regulatory work. Regularly acts for multinational companies and large international banks as well as investment funds, promoters, intermediaries and high-net-worth individuals. In recent years played a key role in leading some of Bedell Cristin’s highest-profile corporate finance and real estate acquisition transactions.

The Bedell Cristin banking practice saw some change in September 2019 with Tim Pearce designated as the firm’s new global head of banking and corporate and Alasdair Hunter the head of the Jersey banking practice – the same month Richard Le Liard was elected to the partnership and Sara Johns joined from Ogier. Pearce handles locally important deals concerning both real estate and companies present on-island, while Hunter is active on the borrower side for private equity houses advising on the financing of companies and real estate, as well as work for respected banks, contributing BVI expertise. Malcolm Ellis  is a notable senior associate, as is Antony Clerehugh. Mark Dunlop is now the firm’s knowledge management partner.

Jersey > Corporate and commercial

Tim Pearce heads the corporate practice at Bedell Cristin, and handles distressed, real-estate heavy M&A deals. In addition, Guy Westmacott  handles deals concerning London real estate, and having been in-house for over a decade at Mubadala, has a khaleeji following for a range of instructions. Sara Johns‘ practice includes on-island deals demanding competition law expertise, and Alasdair Hunter also has BVI expertise and has recently been involved in transactions in the energy and natural resources space. Richard Le Liard was a 2019 partner promotion.
