Commercial litigation, arbitration and regulatory matters

I’m a Partner in our Jersey litigation practice.

I regularly advise on a wide range of commercial disputes, insolvencies and restructurings with a particular focus in the areas of contentious trust matters, partnership and investment fund disputes, banking litigation and corporate liquidations and reorganisations.

I’ve been involved in some of the largest and most complex trust proceedings, funds disputes and insolvencies in Jersey and the Cayman Islands, and have regularly appeared before the English, Cayman Islands and Jersey courts.

Stephen AlexanderMourant

At Mourant, the litigation and dispute resolution group has an impressive depth of practice that includes banking and securities disputes, commercial and employment disputes, as well as public law and insolvency litigation. The team is also noted for contentious matters involving data protection. Taking the lead is Stephen Alexander , ‘a brilliant technical lawyer who is also incredibly user friendly and commercially minded‘, who is adept at multi-jurisdictional trust and commercial litigation, also handling arbitrations and regulatory matters. With ‘a unique ability to guide a client through complex litigation‘, former practice head Bruce Lincoln , who stepped down in November 2021, continues to be instructed by institutional and high-net-worth individual clients in contentious trust issues, also an area of expertise for Jonathan Speck  and Katie Hooper, who became a partner in February 2022. Mathew Cook is the key name for regulatory and white-collar criminal defence work. Counsel Luke Olivier is also recommended.
