Keith advises clients on the build out of new renewable energy projects, including windfarms, solar parks, biomass projects and hydro schemes.

Keith also advises on the sale and purchase of ready to build and operating projects, as well as setting up joint ventures to implement renewables projects. He advises developers and lenders, as well as purchases and sellers.

Acting for a broad range of clients including developers, operators, overseas utilities, landowners, investors and contractors, the practice at Brodies LLP offers specialist expertise across the range of renewable energies, from hydro and wind farming to solar and bioenergy. Particularly strong advising the independent power producer (IPP) sector, the team is co-headed by Keith Patterson, who leads on transactional work and the firm’s well regarded project finance capabilities. Kirsty Macpherson also leads the team and brings over 20 years of experience advising developers and landowners on renewables projects, with specialist knowledge regarding rural land crofting issues.
