Position

Recognised as a leading individual in his field, Alan heads up our Professional Negligence practice, acting in disputes on behalf of insurer, corporate and partnership clients. He has over 30 years’ experience of handling claims involving engineers, architects, surveyors, solicitors, accountants, brokers and IFAs (Independent Financial Advisers) as well as construction industry contractors and overseeing teams handling occupational disease claims for employers.

He has a keen commercial sense for when litigation is in a client’s best interests or alternatively when they should adopt alternative, solution-driven approaches, having a special interest in mediation and ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) in all his areas of specialism. He is also a frequent speaker on issues relating to professional liability, regulation and litigation.

Career

Qualified 1984; partner 1991. He was part of the 80-strong team who joined Brodies LLP from Bishops in August 2006.
