Position

The head of Brodies’ professional negligence grouping, Alan specialises in claims involving professionals and others in the commercial sector on behalf of corporate, partnership and insurer clients. He has particular experience of claims against engineers, surveyors and others in the construction industry, as well as solicitors, accountants and professionals in the financial and insurance sectors. Alan has a special interest in mediation and ADR in all his areas of specialism. He has a keen commercial eye on advising when litigation is in a client’s best interests and when their interests are better served outside the Court process and by using alternative, solution driven approaches.

Career

Qualified 1984; partner 1991. He was part of the 80-strong team who joined Brodies LLP from Bishops in August 2006.
