Position

Mark has over a decade of experience dealing with the resolution of complex planning, highway and compulsory purchase issues. Mark has drafted and completed numerous complex section 106 agreements, including for mixed use schemes incorporating large amounts of infrastructure provision and in excess of 1000 phased residential units. Mark is well versed in affordable housing matters. As well as section 106 work, Mark has and does advise on DCOs, planning application strategy, planning appeals, high court and court of appeal litigation. Sports stadia development has features heavily in Mark’s caseload over the years. Mark is also currently acting in relation to compulsory purchase Upper Tribunal matters. A wide ranging client base consisting of plc housebuilders, national and regional developers and retailers, household names, infrastructure providers and HNWIs. Mark is in addition to his role at Gateley Plc the statutory independent person to Stockport MBC.

Career

Trained at Halliwells LLP, Manchester. Qualified into the planning team. Transferred to Gateley Plc, Manchester in 2010.

Hulme Grammar School, Oldham; The University of Manchester (1999 – 2002 LLB Hons).
