Lauren is a clinical negligence claims specialist who deals with a variety of cases including hospital negligence, delayed diagnosis of cancer, surgical errors, misdiagnosis, birth negligence and GP negligence.
She has handled a significant number of cases relating to the neglect and abuse of elderly care home residents and has taken an active role at Hudgell Solicitors in leading our campaigns for improved standards.
Lauren joined Hudgell Solicitors in 2010 and qualified as a solicitor in 2012.
Lauren has campaigned alongside clients to help raise awareness of care home abuse, and the impact it can have on vulnerable people, is one of my proudest achievements.
She was a prominent figure in the firm’s LOVE campaign (Love Our Vulnerable Elderly), which called for elderly people to always be cared for with love, respect and dignity.
I campaigned on national television for CCTV to be made compulsory in care homes after the family of one of her clients secretly filmed care home staff abusing their elderly relative.
This coverage, coupled with a petition calling on the government to introduce legislation on CCTV use in care homes, garnered widespread support and sparked an important debate on the safeguarding of vulnerable elderly people in the care system.
Lauren appeared on national television programme This Morning to discuss the case and campaign.
