Career

Nichola Carter, one of the founders of specialist immigration law firm Carter Thomas Solicitors, is widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading experts in the field of sponsorship and, in particular, sponsor compliance.

Both English UK and London Metropolitan University turned to Nichola when facing the brunt of Home Office policy change and enforcement action respectively and the Home Office also regularly liaises with her on policy developments.

Having spent almost two decades advising on this field of law, Nichola has a reputation for providing sensible and pragmatic legal advice to sponsors. The firm offers a range of services to sponsors including on-site mock audits and interview preparation compliance reviews, advice on the sponsorship of migrants, right to work/civil penalty guidance and, where needed, advice concerning UKVI enforcement action.

Nichola also advises high-net worth individuals requiring assistance and she is also instructed by a large number of law firms that do not offer immigration services ensuring that their clients are catered for in this complex area of law.

Nichola is a member of the Home Office’s Business User Forum and the The Law Society’s Immigration Law Committee. She also sits on the consulting editorial board of LexisNexis’ PSL immigration service. She has been personally ranked in all the leading legal directories for over a decade.
