Position

Partner – Norman Fraser advises banks, lessors and private equity funds in connection with the sale, purchase, leasing and financing of aircraft and engines. Norman has particular expertise advising on the acquisition and financing of portfolios of aircraft and engines and on setting up and structuring aviation related joint ventures. Norman is described by his clients as being "technically exceptional and highly commercial".

Career

Norman read law at Edingburgh University (LLB (Hons)). He trained and qualified with Hogan Lovells (1999-2006) and joined Paul Hastings in 2006 where he was appointed a partner in 2009. He founded REN Legal in 2010.

Spearheaded by the excellent Norman Fraser and Christopher Jackson, REN Legal's three-partner team continues to pick up a considerable amount of small to mid-ticket aviation finance work from banks (Erste Group Bank, DVB Bank) as well as aircraft and engine lessors (AerCap, Engine Lease Finance Corporation). The team is also generating more work from airlines including on behalf of new Argentinian low cost carrier, Flybondi, which Adam Longney advised on the negotiation of all its leases to-date for its fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
